The Book launch party has been quite happening! We played video to showcase the entire process of the Pick Me Up Book Campaign over the past 3 weeks. We autographed the books and even did “Lao Yu Sheng”!
For those whom missed out the fun, you could still get a sneak-peak into the event via the photo. (refer to previous post for link)
Last 2 days, we’ve been busy with our booth at Singapore Management University.
We sold an additional 50 books approximately within the few hours at our booth. It’s really great to have the support of the faculty members and students of Singapore Management University. In fact, most of the feedbacks have been really encouraging and supportive! Thank you guys for your continued support in our book-charity campaign =)
Another piece of great news to share!
Our Pick Me Up Book is now available at KINOKUNIYA!!! WHOOPEY!!!
Now you can spread the word and get your friends to purchase at Kinokuniya directly. =)

Great News!!!
Your paperback Pick Me Up Book is available for collection from tomorrow onwards!
Another Great News!!!
Popular wants to carry Pick Me Up Book! With around 23-26 stores locally, there would mean an additional 1000 books sold! This is an exciting and encouraging piece of good news for the Pick Me Up Team, and definitely for children at Make-A-Wish-Foundation. To know that our efforts have paid off and the local bookstores are carrying our books really bring a lot of pride and smile to our faces, as we battle through the long sleepless nights of trying to drive this charity campaign.
How to Appreciate this Book

Yesterday, we had the honor to have Ms Debbie Seah from Make-A-Wish® Foundation to drop by our Book Sales HQ. She shared with us an inspiring story that moved several people to tears.
She spoke about a wish that was granted to Joseph, a 17 year old boy. He had renal failure and had to wash dishes for a living to help pay for his medical bills whenever he is free. Most of the time, he has to stay at the hospital for dialysis and treatment. His one biggest wish was to own a laptop so that he could spend time with his friends whenever he is at the hospital.
The volunteers at the Foundation picked him up and planned to make his laptop wish come true. But they also decided to go an extra mile. They got to know that Joseph loved cooking and they went on a secret mission to tie up with the Four Seasons Hotel.
The volunteers ferried the unsuspecting boy to the hotel. He wondered what was going on; why was he being brought to such a grand location. The moment he stepped into the hotel, he was greeted by an entourage of smiling staff and was escorted like royalty to the hotel ballroom. When Joseph opened the door, he was pleasantly surprised.

It’s Yixin, your friendly blogger again! I’m the one in pink! =P
If you are visiting our blog for the 1st time, WELCOME!
Here’s a quick recap of our juicy happenings since last 11 January 2008, Friday…
1st 24-hr Challenge
- Started on 11 Jan’ 08, Friday, to 12 Jan’ 08, Saturday, a group of 12 graduates from the coaching program, The Courage to Create, decided to embark on an impossible feat - to write, edit, publish, launch and sell a book (Pick Me Up) from scratch!
- WHY DO THEY DO THAT? It’s because they set out on a mission to remind the world that it is possible to turn dreams into reality!
- These 12 ppl. quickly formed an operation team and roped in their friends to support. Within that 24-hr, the operation team collected 42 life stories of how these amazing ppl. managed to overcome their struggles in life and make their dreams come true.
- Within 24 hours, a baby (Pick Me Up Book) was born and launched globally!
- Over 100 books were sold!!!
2nd 24-hr Challenge
- The operation team decided to embark on a 2nd 24-hr challenge on 13 Jan’ 08, Sunday 1:11pm, to 14 Jan’ 08 Mon 1:11pm. This time, they aimed to sell 10,000 books within 24 hours!

Hi All!
Apologies for the lack of updates. We were so tied up trying to get out the new site and such.. and we finally did! Kudos to Vicki and Wai Kay for their design and coding efforts. Special thanks also goes out to Johnson, Chris, Alex and Dionis for working on the site and the videos. We had Yixin and Isaac doubling up as our on site bloggers.
I think we are back in action!

To all the people out there,
How was your weekend? Don’t some of you find it strange that we didn’t have any post these 2 days?
Truth is, all of us are really maxed out. Especially for the sales team. They are running on overtime to ensure that all payments are cleared so that the books can be out on time for delivery. It seems as though that their hands got glued to either the keyboard or the phone. Dark patches linger around their eyes converting the office to panda-land!!
If you happen to receive a call by them, don’t be fooled by the cheerfulness of their voices. These ladies have really put in their hearts and souls to ensure that the back end is functioning. If you haven’t receive their call, then there are two possibilities.
1) you have made payment (like you should have)
or
2) you are on the long list of people that they will be calling up soon (so wait awhile more).
On the Internet side, there should be more things coming up, but no promise as the online team is quite stretched. Thank God they are made of rubber and that they are super elastic.
Check in for more updates,
Pick Me Up Team ; )

We finally finished a day’s of phone call and we are now doing a completion and summary of what happened today. Action packed, super fast, super crazy. Calls non stop, people calling up corporates, every body else, urging the masses to get the book. Getting the book not because of the book itself, but because of the ideals and cause that it serves.
It is buying into a dream that we are taking into reality. The success of this project really shows that anyone, anybody can achieve their dreams. And for the kids, everybody’s contribution means helping 1 more child get what they wish for. Some of these kids might not even be able to live till Chinese New Year, hence every minute, every second is essential. It is important. Time cannot be wasted. That’s also one of the driving forces behind doing things in a blitz, in a fast and furious 24 hours, 72 hours time frame, getting maximum results in the minimum amount of time.
We definitely faced a lot of resistance in our quest and journey in getting to where we want to go. But I’m glad we did. The more people resisted, the more we persist! We must break through our own limitations and keep going at this project!
Whee
Have you bought your book yet?
