It means challenging all the beliefs you ever had in your life. It means plunging in to what you truly hold dear to and putting your heart and soul into it. It means to let go off all the people saying to you, “You cannot do it! It’s ridiculous!” And, it means putting in every ounce of strength and effort you’ve ever had (or didn’t know you ever had!) in your body

However, it doesn’t mean it’s easy. It doesn’t mean it can be done always. And it certainly doesn’t mean that just by doing the above, things come out the way you always want it to.

Just never give up.  Only keep moving forward. To add, a wise lady even said to us, “Even if you fall, fall forward.”

Till now, we have fulfilled a wish child’s dream, touched the lives of Singaporeans and the World, and raised funds for society! Proud milestones that we would have never imagined would come as a result from that one night on 11th January. The world has expanded for us, and so have our selves!

Next week, we will officially give the Big Ang Pow for the wish children and Make-A-Wish Foundation®. It’s exciting and we’re pumped up to make it a great event for all! Pick Me Up invites you to come along and share the joy with each other.

Life is a journey. And in this journey, we seek means to live it fully, and experience our best “version” of it. Maybe you want a happy family or a luxurious lifestyle. Maybe you desire to travel, and explore the unknown adventures that lurk behind every tree, rock or drift. Maybe you want to own an empire, leave a legacy behind. Or perhaps you desire to save the world in your own little ways. These are the dreams we have.

Are you on your way to realizing your dream? Or have you been in touch with what you truly desire? Do you love your work that you create in this world? Do you love waking up in the morning and watching the day unfolds?

Are you living the life you truly want?

If your answer is YES to all of these, then that’s great. PMU wishes you all the best in your future, and hope we come in contact so we can share our adventures of life together.

There are a couple of times in our lives where things weren’t always great. And we admit that as a truth. Even the lives of the rich and famous are not perfect.

These were the times when we felt so down and got so stuck that there is absolutely nothing to look forward to. Events when the whole world seems to go against us in doing what believe in, even our dear loved ones. And the tragedies that cause us to lose faith and deny all that is good in us.

But the Pick Me Up team won’t be here today if not for the special other souls that have picked us up in their own unique ways. It is they who made us bring back that faith. It is they who raised up the courage inside us. To fight another day. And it is them who gently pushes us to make tiny little steps forward even though all we want to do is lie down and stay there. You know who you are. We love you.

Sleeping at one corner??

In broad daylight???

Actually, no we weren’t slacking off somewhere, instead….

We took a BREAK!

for Chinese New Year! This year has just started great. We went around our favourite round robin trips and filled our tummies with lots of good food. And particularly, the lion dance performances were especially good this year. Extra loud and perky! Really love them.

Pick Me Up is back in action! This break has been refreshing, new plans are in the works and we are all raring to go!

So how was your Lunar New Year? Did you get lots of ang paos? Enjoyed your family reunion dinner? Manage to tie loose ends and start the year anew?

The team here believes in clearing clutters and doing simple acts to finish unhandled business. So that we can move on to the bigger things in life! Have you been making use of the 5 Lessons from Pick Me Up? Did you take steps to clear your clutter?

Hey, I saw you guys on TV again! So what’s going on?

We are still carrying out more actions to let you have the books in your hands! Yes, we are fortunate to have been featured on Prime Time Morning and interviewed live by the lovely Suzanne Jung and Steven Chia.

Tan Li Lin and Peh Eng Hao were the lucky ones to represent the team. There, they shared about the miracle breakthroughs they personally experienced in their lives.

To refresh your memory, Eng Hao recovered his sense of smell after having lost it for 9 years!

And Lin witnessed a medical miracle when she saw an accident victim gradually recover from being physically challenged to learning to jump and even dance again!

Part of making miracles for the people.

We are really proud to have our baby standing up there, and between the shoulders of giants. Who knows? Maybe one day this baby will grow up to be a giant too!

Last 2 days, we’ve been busy with our booth at Singapore Management University.

We sold an additional 50 books approximately within the few hours at our booth. It’s really great to have the support of the faculty members and students of Singapore Management University. In fact, most of the feedbacks have been really encouraging and supportive! Thank you guys for your continued support in our book-charity campaign =)

Here’s a quick recap of our juicy happenings since last 11 January 2008, Friday…

1st 24-hr Challenge

• Started on 11 Jan’ 08, Friday, to 12 Jan’ 08, Saturday, a group of 12 graduates from the coaching program, The Courage to Create, decided to embark on an impossible feat – to write, edit, publish, launch and sell a book (Pick Me Up) from scratch!
• WHY DO THEY DO THAT? It’s because they set out on a mission to remind the world that it is possible to turn dreams into reality!
• These 12 ppl. quickly formed an operation team and roped in their friends to support. Within that 24-hr, the operation team collected 42 life stories of how these amazing ppl. managed to overcome their struggles in life and make their dreams come true.
• Within 24 hours, a baby (Pick Me Up Book) was born and launched globally!
• Over 100 books were sold!!!

2nd 24-hr Challenge

• The operation team decided to embark on a 2nd 24-hr challenge on 13 Jan’ 08, Sunday 1:11pm, to 14 Jan’ 08 Mon 1:11pm. This time, they aimed to sell 10,000 books within 24 hours!
• ARE THEY CRAZY OR WHAT? Keep reading…
• Within 24 hours, this small operation team created miracles. They created NEWS and the WORLD has been watching them since…
• Within 24-hr, they were featured in My Paper, Channelnewsasia, MediaCorp Stations Channel 5, Channel 8,Channel U, and Suria, as well as Radio 93.8
• Not only media coverage, they also managed to reach out to 10 million bloggers and social networks Worldwide!!!
• Sold additional 53 ebooks.
• Undaunted by their setback of only 53 ebooks, the operation team decided they wanted to tell the World that they will not give up, and they embarked on another 72-hour challenge!!!

72-Hr Challenge

• This time round, they not just want to remind the world to make their dreams into reality, the operation team decided they wanted to make a difference to the terminally-ill children from Make-A-Wish-Foundation and make these children’s dreams come true too.
• The operation team wants to donate 60% of all their net proceeds to Make-A-Wish-Foundation to help these kids. As for the remaining 40% of the net proceeds, it would go to a pooled fund to set up a social enterprise to make a BIGGER difference to the society.
• 38 e-books + 1893 Hard-copy books sold. Featured in Catalog Magazine, IS Magazine, Singapore Radio Station LIVE 93.8, FM 95.8. Secured our first sponsor City Developments Limited (CDL). Website hits reached 10, 563.

  Final Result: 2084 Books

  TOTAL RAISED: S$56,395.60 (Excluding donations)

• Remember this is the same operation team whom have been working on the 3 campaigns for the entire week. Their lives were disrupted and most of them have jobs or schools to attend. (As for me, I’m a final year undergrad. from SMU. There were days where I had to wear the same clothes for days! OMG! >_< )
• Still short on their 10,000 books target. HOW???

NEXT CHALLENGE

• Still committed to the dream of wanting to give the kids from Make-A-Wish-Foundation a BIG RED PACKET during Chinese New Year, the operation team decided to continue the 10,000 book sales GOAL
• We’re still in the midst of fulfilling this dream.
