Have you ever come across individuals who needed assistance in an aspect of their lives or another? What if you were that person who needed that simple gesture of faith and support?
Pick Me Up - Since ages ago, people have been picking people up. It could be a mentor, a relative, a friend, a teacher or even a stranger. Who can imagine the impact and difference that a few encouraging words said at the the most appropriate time can make to a person’s life? Or an act of contribution did freely and willingly without an expectation of a return?
The Pick Me Up team is a group of people who aims to empower individuals in making a difference in their own lives.
It all started with the creation of a book. On 11th January 2008, the Pick Me Up book was authored by 42 people from all walks of life, and finished in an impossible deadline of 24 hours. Together with the phenomenal message that embodies it, turn your dreams into reality!
Since then, Pick Me Up has:
- Granted the wishes of two children from Make-A-Wish Foundation®
- Raised $45,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation®
- Appeared in numerous news agencies (Channel News Asia, Sunday Times, Lianhe Zaobao and Wanbao, My Paper, News 93.8, 95.8FM)
- Gained support from:
Member of Parliament for Aljunied GRC, Mdm Cynthia Phua
Member of Parliament for Pasir-Ris Punggol GRC and Founding President of Social Innovation Park, Ms Penny Low
Member of Parliament for Woodlands GRC (Sembawang), Ms Ellen Lee
- Launched a 2nd edition of the book and sold over 3500 copies.
